About HarborWind

We've sat on both sides of the table.

That means we know what operators sacrifice when they take outside capital — and we structure our work so they don’t have to sacrifice it again.

Who We Are

Both sides of the table. One partnership.

HarborWind Partners was built on the belief that the best investment decisions come from understanding both sides of the equation — the operator's reality and the investor's discipline. Sean Mahoney built, scaled, and sold a technology services company. He knows the 2 AM decisions, the culture inflection points, and the tension between growth and discipline that define a founder's life. Rocky Lopez spent over a decade as Principal and CFO of a single-family office, overseeing capital allocation and direct private equity investments, after years in investment banking and venture capital. That combination — operating experience alongside institutional investing rigor — shapes every deal we source, every company we partner with, and every value creation plan we execute.

Operators trust us because we've been in their seat. Investors trust us because we underwrite with discipline. That’s the edge.

Partnership

We invest alongside management teams, not above them. Aligned incentives and shared risk define every deal.

Patience

We build value over years, not quarters. Compounding returns require compounding commitment.

Precision

Disciplined underwriting, rigorous diligence, and selective deployment. We say no far more than we say yes.

Our Edge

The Quiet Edge

We don’t talk about technology to impress anyone. We talk about it because it is central to how we work — before a deal, during ownership, and long after a close. Every tool we use has one job: make the business stronger and the people inside it more effective.

Preparation, Not Prospecting

AI helps us study sectors deeply and evaluate businesses with rigor — so when we approach a founder, we have already done the work to understand their market, their model, and why the fit is real. We earn the conversation before we ask for it.

Infrastructure You Can Feel

We bring modern operational systems — ERP, CRM, workflow automation — into businesses that have outgrown their current tools. The goal is not complexity. It is giving your team the infrastructure to move faster, see more clearly, and stop working around the things that never got fixed.

Smarter Customer Relationships

We use AI to help portfolio companies communicate with customers in ways that are more personal and more responsive. Not robotic. Not templated. The kind of attentiveness that turns a vendor into a trusted partner — at a scale a ten-person team could not manage alone.

Investment Philosophy

A disciplined approach to enduring value.

Step 01

Buy.

We acquire established, founder-led businesses in fragmented industries with durable competitive advantages. Our sourcing is proprietary and relationship-driven — we often spend years building trust before a transaction unfolds. We seek companies with $2.5M–$12M in EBITDA, strong cultures, and clear pathways to operational improvement.

Step 02

Build.

We partner with management to professionalize operations, invest in talent, and pursue strategic add-on acquisitions. Our operating team works shoulder-to-shoulder with portfolio companies — implementing systems, expanding sales channels, and building scalable infrastructure. We don’t advise from the sideline — we embed with management and execute.

Step 03

Compound.

We hold investments through full value-creation cycles, allowing organic growth and margin expansion to compound. Our patient capital structure means we're never forced sellers. When the time is right, we position businesses for premium outcomes — strategic sales, recapitalizations, or continued partnership for the next chapter of growth.

Let's build something enduring.

Whether you’re ready to talk or just starting to think about what’s next — we’re here when you are.
