Privacy Policy

HarborWind Partners LLC ("HarborWind," "we," "us") runs harborwind.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, by email, and by phone, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions go to hello@harborwind.com.

Information you give us

Contact and inquiry forms. Your first and last name, email address, company, the type of inquiry, and your message.
Newsletter sign-up. Your first and last name and email address.
Email. Anything you include when you write to us.
Phone and voicemail. If you call one of our numbers and leave a voicemail, our phone service records it and a transcription service turns it into text, so we can read it and call you back.

Information a seller or intermediary shares about a business, such as a confidential information memorandum, is governed by the confidentiality agreement covering that deal.

Information collected automatically

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages people visit, how they arrived, and what kind of device and browser they used, including an approximate location. Advertising features are turned off.
Our email and marketing system. Our marketing system, hosted at mautic.harborwind.com, sets two cookies (mtc_id and mautic_device_id) that record the pages your browser visits on our site. If you later submit a form or click a link in one of our emails, that browsing history is connected to your contact record. Our emails also record whether they were opened and which links were clicked.
Hosting and security. Our website host and its security services keep standard server logs and may set cookies needed to deliver the site and block abuse.
Spam protection. Our forms run automated checks to block spam submissions.

How we use information

To answer your inquiry and follow up on a conversation you started.
To evaluate acquisitions, financing, and other business relationships.
To send our newsletter and occasional firm updates to people who signed up or who work with us. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To understand how the website is used and improve it.
To keep our systems secure, and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

We share it with service providers that run parts of our business for us: website hosting, web analytics, our email and marketing system, business email, our relationship-management system, and phone and transcription services. They may use it only to provide those services.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our firm.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link at the bottom of each one, or by writing to hello@harborwind.com.
Our site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Blocking cookies is the most reliable way to limit tracking.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can ask us to stop contacting you. Write to hello@harborwind.com. We will confirm your request and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request. Depending on where you live, the law may give you additional rights, and we will honor them.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we have a business relationship or a legitimate business reason to keep it, and as long as the law requires. After that, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

Security

We protect personal information with access controls, encryption in transit, and accounts limited to the people who need them. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our website is meant for business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Where information is processed

HarborWind is based in the United States, and we and our service providers process information in the United States.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
